PURPOSE: An artificial float island is provided to plant the slope of a freshwater lake with trees by preventing the plants near water from dying when the slope is exposed over the water level. CONSTITUTION: A left portion of an artificial float area is put on a slope and the right portion floats along the water level of a freshwater lake as the water level of the lake is low. The plants near the right portion absorb water directly, but ones near the left portion absorb moisture through a porous nonwoven fabric(20). That is, the porous nonwoven fabric stores rain water to supply the water to the plants. The water in the right portion of the nonwoven fabric is delivered to the left side through capillarity. Therefore, the plants on the slope absorb water from both rain and the lake, and are prevented from dying.
