PURPOSE: A method for internet connection using a cable modem on an internet television is provided to utilize empty channels of CATV as specific internet sites by using a cable modem within a converter for receiving CATV broadcasting. CONSTITUTION: A method for internet connection using a cable modem on an internet television comprises the following steps. Empty channels of CATV broadcasting channels are designated as specific internet sites. A cable modem is turned on. The cable modem is connected to the specific internet site if a selected CATV broadcasting channel is the designated internet site. A text OSD(On Screen Display) is output according to a key input for requesting information about the designated channel. A user selects a channel of the text OSD and the selected channel is connected automatically to the designated internet site.
