PURPOSE: A method for managing a PIP mode television is provided to turn off PIP mode automatically when same channels are selected and turn on the PIP mode when auxiliary screen is changed. CONSTITUTION: A method for managing a PIP(picture in picture) mode television includes first thru fifth steps. At the first step(S30), whether the PIP mode is turned on is determined. At the second step(S40), the number of the main/auxiliary screens are determined. At the third step(S50), whether the channels of the main/auxiliary screens are same is determined when the number in the second step is 2. At the forth step(S70), the PIP mode is turned off. At the fifth step(S60), the PIP mode is maintained at off state when no channel change occurs, and the PIP mode is turned on(S80) when channel change occurs. |
