PURPOSE: An optical pickup using plural beams and a controlling method thereof are provided to produce the optical pickup in a simple structure and to secure stable focusing distance while improving optical efficiency. CONSTITUTION: A key is inputted for playing back an optical disk such as a CD or the settled optical disk is decided as the CD. A microcomputer(32) controls the switching operation of an electric power switch(31) for feeding a supply electric power to a hologram pickup module(23) for CD while controlling the operation of a driver(33) for driving a rotational motor(34). Therefore, the hologram pickup module radiating the beam of a certain wavelength(650mm) to a coating lens(22) by the supply electric power. Then, the coating lens rotates for 45 degrees by the drive of the rotational motor for reflecting the radiated beam to a collimator lens. Thus, the beam is converted into a parallel beam for being concentrated by a total mirror and a focus lens to play back the optical disk. |
