PURPOSE: A communication interconnection network for a high speed data transmission is provided to process a wide band data at a high speed in a cellular system supporting an asynchronous transfer mode (ATM) to adopt multimedia data. CONSTITUTION: A base transceiver station/base station controller(110) includes a processors(111) that desires a communication, a first high speed node assembly(HINA)(112) connected with the processor(111), a data bus(115) that connects the first HINA(112) to a different HINA(114), and a second HINA(116) connected with the data bus(115). An expanded communication interface network(E-CIN)(120) includes an HINA interface(124) connected with the second HINA(116) through a serial interface(101), a consolidation bus(123) connected with the HINA interface(124), a distribution bus(122) connected with the HINA interface(124) and an asynchronous transfer mode interface(121) connected with the consolidation bus(123) and the distribution bus(122).
