PURPOSE: A method for setting and resetting a traffic channel in a radio communication system is provided to improve a quality of communication by assigning a high-quality traffic channel to a mobile phone. CONSTITUTION: A mobile phone checks every available traffic channel to generate a candidate list for traffic channels having an interference below a certain level and stores it. A base station checks receiving electric field effect strength of every traffic channel except for a traffic channel in a communication to generate an available traffic channel list for traffic channels having a receiving electric field effect strength higher than a certain level and stores it. When the mobile phone selects a traffic channel having the least interference from the candidate list and requests a link from the base station, the base station identifies whether the traffic channel as requested for linking is included in the available traffic channel list, and sets linking, if it is included. A mobile phone requesting resetting of link receives the available traffic channel list from the base station, selects a different traffic channel from the available traffic channel list and requests a link from the base station.
