PURPOSE: A vent valve assembly is provided to buffer noise due to pressure pulsation in a vent cover and to prevent elation of vibration level in a general loop pipe communicated to the vent cover. CONSTITUTION: As a piston(1) backs up, new coolant gas is flowed in via a coolant passage(1a) of the piston and into a compressing space(S1) by opening a suction valve(3) installed on the front end face of the piston. When the piston moves forward, the coolant gas flowed into the compressing space is compressed by being pushed by the piston and vented to a first venting space(S21) of a vent cover(110) by pushing a vent valve(120) at a certain point of time. When the piston backs up, the pressure of the compressing space is lower than that of the venting space thus the vent valve returns to the front end face of a cylinder(2) by returning force of a valve spring(130) and the compressing space is divided from the venting space. The pressure pulsation of the coolant gas vented to the venting space from the compressing space is not transmitted directly to the vent cover or a loop pipe and buffered in the first venting space and a second venting space(22). The first noise due to the pressure pulsation or the secondary noise due to elation of vibration level of the loop pipe by the pressure pulsation is prevented.
