PURPOSE: A retractor of a safety belt is provided to prevent a webbing from re-loosing caused by reverse directional force by forming a recessed groove and a protrusion through the recessed groove in a piston and a cylinder. CONSTITUTION: First, a spool is fixed to fix a webbing when a collision occurs. An ECU for controlling an air bag drives a triggering device and a piston moves to the lower end of a cylinder with gas pressure from the triggering device. Both walls of a piston(32) rotate with a guider(34) having a protrusion or a recessed groove. The guider advances, inserted into the wall of the piston. A wire(20) connected to the piston rotates the spool reversely in order to tighten the webbing. Even with reverse directional force, the webbing is prevented from loosing since the piston is inserted into the wall of the piston.
