PURPOSE: A method for producing steel rod wire is provided to have a scale with excellent peeling property while having excellent mechanical property by using a mechanical peeling method. CONSTITUTION: A billet is composed of 0.60-0.85wt% of C, 0.15-0.35wt% of Si, 0.60-0.90wt% of Mn, under 0.30wt% of P, under 0.30wt% of S, and the remnant wt% of Fe and impurities. The billet is hot rolled for being wound up at a temperature of 900-970°C. Then, the billet is cooled at an average cooling speed of under 10°C/sec to the temperature of 670-730°C. Herein, the scale of the strong steel rod wire for a bed spring is eliminated by applying a mechanical peeling method for reducing scale peeling cost while not contaminating environment.
