PURPOSE: Provided is a continuous manufacturing method of £3S-(α, 4αβ, 8αβ)|-N-tert-butyl-decahydro-3-isoquinolincarboxamide(DHIQ) by hydrogenation of N-tert-butyl-1,2,3,4-tetrahydro-3(S)-isoquinolincarboxamide(TICC) in the fixed bed reactor filled with precious metal supported catalyst in inorganic oxide carrier at high production rate. CONSTITUTION: TICC solubilized in organic solvent and hydrogen in the molar ratio of 1 : 4-10 are introduced in the fixed bed reactor containing inorganic oxide carrier having specific surface area of 10-1,000 m¬2/g, average pore diameter of no more than 200 Angstrom and total pore volume of 0.2-1.0 cc/g filled with catalyst supported with 0.5-10 wt.% of precious metal at the temperature of 50-200°C, the pressure of 300-2500 psig and 0.1-10 weight space velocity per hour to produce optically pure DHIQ continuously by hydrogenation at high production rate.
