PURPOSE: A device for error correction using emulator is provided to simultaneously execute hardware and software error correction by adding memory and memory controller to the external emulator. CONSTITUTION: A device for error correction using emulator is composed of transmission, output, reception, and decoding. Host(20) sends test execution data designed to operate test circuit dept.(21) to the host interface circuit dept.(31). Transmitted data is divided into memory controller(32) and JTAG interface circuit dept.'s(34) data. Data for memory controller is transmitted through memory controller and downloaded to the memory(33). (33) outputs the data for s/w and hardware error correction. (21) initiates the test for error correction for input data, transmits the test result to emulator's (34) and detecting signal(DS), which alerts the output of data, is sent to the host through (31). At the same time, (34) receives and decodes the memory's output data, and inputs to TAP controller(42). TAP controller is operated by TDI, TCK, and TMS signals, which are received from emulator's (34). If, the output data is a TAP command, TAP controller executes a signal to operate command register(43), and operates TAP commands.
