PURPOSE: A pattern generator for adjusting screen image size embedded in a television is provided to display the pattern for adjusting screen image size for changing the screen size. CONSTITUTION: A pattern generator for adjusting screen image size embedded in a television includes a memory(22), a key input(20), a cathode ray tube(30), a cathode ray tube driver(28), and a controller(24). The memory(22) stores the patterns. The key input(20) inputs a key for adjusting screen image size. The cathode ray tube(30) displays the pattern for adjusting screen image size responding to a CRT driving signal. The cathode ray tube driver(28) generates the CRT driving signal. The controller(24) reads the pattern and converts the pattern to an analog signal. The analog signal is applied to the cathode ray tube driver(28) and displayed on the cathode ray tube(30). The controller(24) then generates a CRT driving control signal increasing/decreasing the DC current in a vertical and horizontal coils.
