PURPOSE: A method for modifying and identifying meter ID using a hand terminal is provided to modify the ID of the meter using the hand terminal and identify the modified ID. CONSTITUTION: A method for modifying and identifying meter ID using a hand terminal comprises the steps of: displaying input request screen of a present ID and an ID to be modified; checking whether a present operation mode of the hand terminal is set as an input mode of the ID to be modified; storing and displaying input data as a present ID if the mode isn't set; checking whether input present ID is present; setting the operation mode as an input mode of the ID to be modified; storing and displaying input data as a present ID; transmitting the stored data and ID modify request command to the meter; setting the hand terminal as a check mode; requesting the check; and displaying the received check data.
