PURPOSE: A method for notifying reception of a call in a cellular telephone using a liquid crystal display backlight is provided to reduce the weight, the size, and the required parts of the cellular telephone by notifying the state of the receipt to a user by blinking a LCD backlight when reception of a call in a cellular phone is generated. CONSTITUTION: A controlling part(140) detects the receipt of telephone request or the receipt of a message through antenna and an RF receiving part(10)(S201), transmits an LCD backlight blink signal according to the receipt to an EL(Electro luminescence) operating part. The EL operating part switches the LCD backlight on and off by transmitting the blink operating signal to the LCD backlight. If a user responses, the controlling part transmits a blink interruption signal to the EL operating part.
