PURPOSE: A polyethylene naphthalate sheet having a constant thickness, a good thermal resistance and gas barrier property is prepared by using modified polyester copolymer as an inner layer and polyethylene naphthalate as an outer layer. CONSTITUTION: Terephthalic acid and ethylene glycol are polymerized with ammonium compound adding isophthalic acid and antimony compound, germanium compound, phosphor compound, magnesium compound and manganese compound to satisfy the following equation(1-5) at the range of 84-93 % esterification rate. 200≤A+B+C≤1300 (1), 0.1≤B+C≤20 (2), 2.5≤B+C/D≤15.0 (3), 0.2≤B+C/E, F≤2.0 (4), 70≤B+C+(E or F)≤450 (5), A, B, C, D, E and F are volume of ammonium, antimony, germanium, phosphor, manganese, magnesium, respectively to give the inner layer polymer. Naphthalene dimethyl terephthalate and dimethyl isophthalate are copolymerized to satisfy the following equation(6-10) to give the polyethylene naphthalate copolymer. 50≤B'+F'≤450 (6), 0.1≤B'/F'≤20 (7), 2.5≤B'+F'/E'≤15.0 (8), 0.2≤B'+F'/C',D'/10.0 (9) 70≤B'+F'+(C' or D')≤450 (10) B', C', D', E'and F' are ppm of antimony, manganese, acetate compound of alkali metal or alkali earth metal, phosphor and germanium in polymer.
