PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To release pressure to the opposite side to a shutoff valve without trouble when pipe line pressure in a short pipe part positioned between an adjusting valve and the shutoff valve is increased. SOLUTION: In an adjusting valve 2 to be installed on the way of a low- temperature fluid transporting pipe 1 and alongside of a shutoff valve 3, a commination hole 17 for communicating a primary pressure chamber 5 and a secondary pressure chamber 6 with each other is provided on a partition wall 7 for partitioning the inside of a valve casing 9 into the primary pressure chamber 5 and the secondary pressure chamber 6. A relief valve 8 for releasing pressure on the secondary pressure chamber side to the primary pressure chamber 5 side when pressure on the secondary pressure chamber 6 side is going to largely exceed pressure on the primary pressure chamber 5 side is assembled to the communication hole 17.
