PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cylindrical packing member that is functional and can be conveniently handled by integrally forming a container storing an item with a lid member. SOLUTION: As raw material forming a cylindrical packing member 1, a packing member 2 made of a thin synthetic resin plate having a suitable resiliency and having a round pipe-like section. Edges of both ends of the packing member are provided with two cut slits 4, 4 so as to cause the two engaging belt pieces 3, 3 having a specified width to be oppositely faced. At an intermediate location of each of the engaging belt pieces 3, 3 is arranged an engaging member having a set of protrusions 5 and engaging holes 6.
