PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new method for measuring the activity of a peroxidase by the use of a chemical light-emitting system enabling the high sensitive measurement of the activity of the peroxidase in the presence of a hydrogen receptor. SOLUTION: This method for measuring the activity of a peroxidase comprises highly sensitively measuring the activity of the peroxidase in the presence of a hydrogen receptor in a chemical light-emitting system using chemical light-emitting reagents consisting mainly of the charge transfer complex of an N,N'-disubstituted-9,9'-bisacridinium salt and an N,N-disubstituted carboxylic amide compound or chemical light-emitting reagents consisting mainly of the charge transfer complex of the N,N'-disubstituted-9,9'-disacridinium salt, the N,N-disubstituted carboxylic amide compound and a specific amino alcohol compound.
