PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk array system for parallelly executing processing without being excluded in the case of performing access from plural directors to the managing area of a cache memory at the same timing by allocating the cache memory to director parts according to the distribution rules of plural partitions. SOLUTION: When the access to a logical disk 0 is requested from a host 201, a host director 211 operates a cache managing area 2211 for using a cache partition 0. During this operation, the cache managing area 2211 is exclusively controlled and can not be operated from the other director. Almost at the same time, when the access to a logical disk 1 is requested from a host 202, a host director 212 operates a cache managing area 2221 for using a cache partition 1. At such a time, the cache managing area 2221 is not exclusively controlled so that it can be immediately operated. |
