SOLUTION: The data carrier loader for moving a recording medium such as a magnetic tape cartridge from a first position to a second position is provided with a accessor 7 for holding the recording medium and moving it from the first to the second position, a guiding member 13 for guiding the movement caused by the accessor 1 from the first to the second position, a projected part 71 provided in the accessor 7, and a turnable screw shaft 8 having a groove 81 formed in a spiral shape.
