<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording and reproducing method which is suitable to be adopted to a device in which a helical scanning azimuth recording system having a narrow track pitch is especially used as to a recording and reproducing device in which a magnetic medium is used. SOLUTION: In a magnetic recording and reproducing device in which a magnetic medium 2 is used, this device is provided with the head used both as recording and reproduction 10a whose track width is set wider than the track pitch of recording tracks and a reproduction exclusive head 10b whose track width is set narrower than the track pitch, Then, a tracking signal is superposed on a recording signal and they are recored on the magnetic medium and, at the time of reproduction, tracking signals recorded on tracks of both sides adjacent to a reproducing track are reproduced with the head used for both as recording and reproduction respectively and the recorded signal is reproduced with the reproduction exclusive head by trackingly controlling the reproduced both tracking signals to the same level.</p> |
