PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for dehydration of organic sludge wherein releasability of dehydrated cake from a filter cloth can be improved without being followed by an increase of an amount of the dehydrated cake, and reduction of a water content can be achieved. SOLUTION: Dehydrating treatment of organic sludge is executed by a method wherein an inorganic flocculant of aluminum polychloride or the like is added to the organic sludge and mixed, and after forming a flock by adding an anionic organic polymeric flocculant and mixing, dehydration is executed by using a filter cloth. As the anionic organic polymeric flocculant, a copolymer having a sulfonate monomer of 2-acrylic amide-2-methyl propane sulfonate or the like, and acrylic amide as an essential constituent monomer is preferable. Further as the anionic organic polymeric, a copolymer having a magnesium salt of acrylic acid and acrylic amide as an essential constituent monomer is also used.
