PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light guiding element excellent in transparency and heat resistance and also to provide a light guiding element where the absorption loss of introduced light is small. SOLUTION: This light guiding element is produced by molding a molding material including (A) a norbornene-based polymer and (B) a phenol-based antioxidant having at least one structural unit of the formula [wherein, R1 is H, a lower alkyl or an aryl; R2 is H or a lower alkyl; (n) is 1 or 2]. It is preferable that the norbornene-based polymer includes at least repeating units not having norbornene structure, the optical path length of the light guiding element is >=100 mm and the light guiding element is a light guiding plate.
