PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a supporting structure, in which a hole is not bored to a glass plate and the vertical edge of the glass plate is clamped and pinched by a metal fitting and supported. SOLUTION: The upper sides and lower sides of a plurality of the erected and juxtaposed glass plates G are supported by an upper frame and a lower frame respectively, and a supporting metal fitting 1 clamping and pinching the vertical-side joint sections of the glass plates G is fixed onto a structural building frame 10 and the glass plates G are supported in the supporting structure of the glass plates. The supporting structure is composed of a pair of left-right external half members 2, which have projecting sections 2b penetrated through the vertical-side joint sections from fronts to rears and in which cushioning materials 3, 4 are stuck on abutting surfaces with the glass plates G, a pair of left-right internal half members 5, in which the cushioning materials 3, 4 are pasted on the rears of the glass plates G and the abutting surfaces, a pair of left-right connecting members 7 fixing the front ends of the projecting sections 2b, a pair of holding-down bolts 6 being screwed to the connecting members 7 and pushing each internal half member 5 against the surfaces of the glass plates, and a rocking plate 8 being screwed at the rear ends of a pair of the connecting members 7 and being capable of being turned while using bolts 17 screwed to each connecting member 7 as shafts. A supporting bolt 19 having a diameter smaller than the diameter of a stepped through-hole is inserted from a mounting member 9, in which the through-hole is formed at the rear of the rocking plate 8, and screwed to a connecting plate, and the connecting plate is freely rotated and moved vertically and horizontally.
