PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carbonizing method for a filament and a carbonizing device being suitable from the environment and capable of obtaining stable carbonizing layer. SOLUTION: A carbonizing device comprises: a gaseous hydrogen feeder 10 for feeding gaseous hydrogen; a gaseous propane feeder 20 for feeding gaseous propane to be mixed with the gaseous hydrogen; a mixing pipeline 11 for mixing the gaseous hydrogen with the gaseous propane; a bell jar 13, into which the mixture gas of the gaseous hydrogen and the gaseous propane is introduced so as to carbonize a filament arranged inside; and a power source for allowing a current to flow in the filament.
