PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect deterioration of the material quality of two-phase stainless steel highly efficiently, economically and highly accurately by using ultrasonic waves. SOLUTION: The ultrasonic waves from an ultrasonic probe 2 are made to propagate through the surface layer of an object 1 to be inspected having a magnetic field and the surface layer of the object 1 to be inspected is vibrated by using the energy of the propagating ultrasonic waves to make the magnetic field of the surface layer of the object 1 to change and this change of the magnetic field is detected by using the magnetic microprobe 3 having resolving power of at least 0.5 μm arranged on the surface of the object 1. The deterioration of the material quality of the objet 1 is detected from the detected change of the magnetic field. |
