PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a device to accept codes with different lengthes even without correcting a decoding algorithm. SOLUTION: The device can use various spread factors while keeping a common scramble code. This device is provided, at its transmitter side, with a means that uses K-sets of spread codes each having length Qk (k=1,..., K) being a divisor of a maximum length QMAX to spread K-sets of the input sequences and groups various data symbols of k-th (k=1,..., K) input sequences into blocks having QMAX/Qk symbols, a means that spreads a block of the k-th (k=1,..., K) input sequence by using a corresponding code with the length Qk to obtain a spread sequence including various spread blocks with the length QMAX, and a means 3 that uses the scramble code with the length QMAX to scramble K-sets of various spread sequences obtained in this way. |
