PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inking arrangement constituted simply, low in cost and imparting printing of high quality. SOLUTION: The inking arrangement of a printing machine has at least one ink roller 8 tumbling on the plate cylinder 10 of the printing machine, an ink jet printer 2 equipped with a large number of selectively controllable ink nozzles 4 and an ink transfer device 6 having a rotary jacket surface for transferring printing ink to at least one ink roller 8 from the ink jet printer 2. In this case, at least one ink roller 8 and the ink transfer device 6 have the same outer diameter as the plate cylinder 10.
