PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a thread to be passed through the eye of a needle properly, even if the position of the eye of the needle is not proper, when a needle is put initially into a needle insert hole of a threader. SOLUTION: This threader comprises a needle holding part 2 with a needle insert hole 20 and a penetrating hole 21 which crosses the needle insert hole 20, a first action body 3A which is capable of reciprocating in the direction from one end of the needle holding part 2 to the penetrating hole 20 so that a thread T placed on one side of the needle holding part 2 is pushed to be able to pass the thread through the eye 90 of a needle 9, and a second action body 38 which is capable of reciprocating in the direction from the other end of the needle holding part 2 to the penetrating hole 21 so as to be able to put a needle on and off the eye 90 of the needle 9 put in the penetrating hole 21.
