PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To receive magnetic resonance signals concerning the plural adjacent regions with good sensitivity by inserting an image pickup object in an internal space of each loop of plural coils to receive a magnetic resonance signal in receiving a magnetic resonance signal by use of plural coils constituting a phased array. SOLUTION: A receiving coil 102 is formed by providing two coil loops 312 and 314 arranged in the direction of yz within a yz plane, and the respective coil loops 312 and 314 are solenoid coils with one to plural turns and formed to have the receiving sensitivity in the direction of (x). These coil loops 312 and 314 are partially overlapped to form a phased array. When in use, both legs of a subject 8 are passed through two circles formed by the respective coil loops 312 and 314 of the receiving coil part 102, and the coil loops 312 and 314 are positioned at both knees of the subject. Thus, magnetic resonance signals produced in both knees can be received with good sensitivity.
