PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roasting machine capable of eliminating the unevenness of roasting by utilizing a great flow or reversion of beans which are characteristics of a conventional rotary kiln type roasting machine, automating a roasting step according to a simple structure and simply creating a tasty and aromatic coffee in a short time at home. SOLUTION: This roasting machine is a rotary kiln type roasting machine equipped with a roasting furnace 4 in which a transparent glass tube having one opened end is arranged in a transverse direction. When roasting furnace 4 is charged with beans, the roasting furnace 4 is rotated and stopped so as to direct the opening 4a upward. After charging the beans, the roasting furnace 4 is rotated in the transverse direction and stopped. In this state, the roasting furnace 4 is heated while being rotated to roast the beans. After the roasting, the roasting furnace 4 is rotated downward to drop the beans in the roasting furnace 4.
