PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain double effects without increasing the number of routes by sharing the routes between a controller and a storage device unit through a duplex route. SOLUTION: Storage device units 120-a to 120-d connected to loops of different fiber channels are defined as one RAID group 130-a and storage device units 121-a to 121-d are defined as a RAID group 130-b; and data are decentralized and stored in storage devices in the RAID groups. For access from a controller 112 to a target storage device unit 120-a, 1st and 2nd routes passing through chips 114-a and 114-b for fiber channel control and loops 116 and 117 of fiber channels are available. For access from the controller 112 to a target storage device unit 120-b, 1st and 2nd routes through chips 114-b and 114-c for fiber channel control and loops 117 and 118 of fiber channels are available.
