PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily clean an upper face of contact glass and a surface of a member for reading white reference data or the like. SOLUTION: When a cleaning mode is set, a motor 25 is driven to cause a drive pulley 23 to drive. A drive pulley 23 moves a drive wire 22 to allow a cleaning bracket 20 with a cleaning pad 21 to move on an upper face of a contact glass 12 in the main scanning direction. The cleaning pad 21 slides on the upper face of the contact glass 12 to wipe out dirt on the upper face of the contact glass 12.
