<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a sealing compound for solar cells excellent in transparency and heat resistance, manifesting an excellent adhesion to protective materials such as glass, metal or the like without utilizing an organic peroxide or the like, and excellent as an alternative material by using a copolymer of ethylene and an unsaturated carboxylic acid or its ionomer. SOLUTION: The sealing material for solar cell module comprises the copolymer of ethylene and an unsaturated carboxylic acid including >=4 wt.% of the unsaturated carboxylic acid, having melting point >=85 deg.C or its ionomer. This sealing material comprises the ionomer or a blend of the ionomer and the copolymer of ethylene and the unsaturated carboxylic acid, having preferable average degree of neutralization of 1-30%. The sealing material preferably has storage elastic modulus of >=103 Pa at 150 deg.C and total light transmittance of >=90%. The preferable melt flow rate of the prescribed copolymer or its ionomer is 1-200 g/10 minnutes at 190 deg.C under 2,160 g load.</p> |
