BACK LIGHTING USED FOR DISPLAY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the light of the whole light source for a display as illumination light having uniform intensity for back lighting used for the display. SOLUTION: The back lighting used for a display has a housing 60 which partitions an optical hollow 62 having an optical window 64, light sources 74 and 76 which are so positioned to direct a light beam passing through the housing 60, and 1st and 2nd main surfaces 71 and 74, and includes a transparent material 70 which is so positioned that the light beam enters the transparent material 70 and is redirected to the optical window 64 as an optical material 70 which has a constitution body on at least one of the main surfaces 71 and 72. Then the constitution body of the main surface is composed of a right-angled prism.
