PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain a combustion state suitably by providing a rotary shell type incinerating furnace for burning a material to be treated, a material-to-be- treated supply passage having a waste supply mechanism for supplying the material received in a hopper into the furnace and an induction blowing mechanism provided at a downstream side of a flue of the furnace, and maintaining a combustion temperature in the furnace in a predetermined range. SOLUTION: The waste incinerator comprises a combustion suppressing gas supply means 5 for supplying combustion suppressing gas capable of suppressing a combustion of a material to be treated to a material-to-be-treated supply passage 2. The incinerator 11 further comprises a waste heat boiler 13 for recovering exhaust gas heat from an incinerating furnace 11 to a flue 12 to generate steam. It is further preferable to provide a steam supply mechanism 6 for supplying the steam generated from the boiler 13 as combustion suppressing gas.
