PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure required withstand voltage without winding an insulating tape around a primary side spur, in a stick type ignition coil. SOLUTION: The gate of a metal mold for molding a primary side spur 19 is arranged in a part, which does not face the main part of a secondary winding 22 out of a primary side spur 19 (the part except wire winding part 19a). As the molding resin, resin satisfactory in breakdown voltage and fluidity is used, e.g. (1) polybutylene terephthalate(PBT) or polyethylene terephthalate(PET), (2) polyphenylene oxide(PPO)/polystyrene(PS)-based high fluidity resin, (3) liquid crystal polymer, etc. When the gate is arranged in a part except the wire winding part 19a, resin deterioration and fine cracks which are generated in the vicinity of the gate are generated in the part which does not face the secondary winding 22 (the part where an applied voltage from the secondary winding 22 is comparatively low). Thereby required breakdown voltage can be ensured, without winding an insulating tape around this part. |
