PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a constitution which can reduce magnetic cross-feeding and perform accurate reproduction even when two magnetic heads for recording and reproduction are arranged closely and perform recording and reproduction at the same time for a multiple magnetic head which magnetically records or reproduce information on a magnetic recording medium having a plurality of tracks. SOLUTION: A plurality of magnetic cores, each consisting of magnetic core half bodies 3a and 3b, and a plurality of magnetic shield plates 4 are arranged alternately at specific intervals along the track width direction and supported by support members 5a and 5b made of nonmagnetic bodies with medium slide surfaces exposed. Further, a magnetic shield case 10 is provided which has an opening part for exposing the above medium slide surfaces and covers and shields them from magnetism. A magnetic head base body composed of them is stored in a box type case 7 which has an opening part on the side of the medium slide surface.
