PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to efficiently sort out bundled paper money even when plural bundled paper money storages are arranged so as to be supperposed to each other in the vertical direction. SOLUTION: The paper money processing machine is provided with a bundled paper money discharging part 125 capable of discharging bundled paper money downward from a prescribed position, a bundled paper money transfer part 287 capable of receiving the bundled paper money discharged downward from the prescribed position by the discharging part 125 through its topside and discharging the received bundled paper money furthermore downward and a bundled paper money storage moving mechanism 288 for moving at least one of the storages for bundled paper money 227-229 in the horizontal direction back and forth to place the storage or storages at a position of a receiving port 242 so that bundled paper money discharged directly from the discharging part 125 or through the transfer part 287 can be received.
