PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an organometallic composition useful as an activator for a metal metallocene complex for forming anα-olefin (co)polymerization catalyst by making the composition include a reaction product of a specific fluorinated organic compound and a specified organometallic compound. SOLUTION: This composition useful as an activator for a metallocene complex of the group 4 for forming anα-olefin (co)polymerization catalyst contains a reaction product of (A) a fluorinated organic compound containing a 5C or 6C diunsaturated ring of formula I (R1 to R7 are each H, F, a 1-20C diunsaturated ring or the like; R8 is H, OH, SH or the like; m is 0 or 1), preferably a compound of formula II (y and z are each 1-4; R11 and R12 are each F, hydrocarbyl or the like) and (B) an organometallic compound of the formula M'RnX(p-n) (M' is a metal of the group 2 or 13 of the periodic table of element; R is a 1-10C hydrocarbyl; X is a halogen; p is a valence of M'; n is a decimal of 1-p).
