DISAZO PIGMENT FOR THERMAL TRANSFER, THERMAL TRANSFER SHEET PREPARED BY USING SAME, AND THERMAL TRANSFER INK

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a disazo pigment reduced in color migration, can give a high-density yellow recording at a low energy and having improved light resistance and storage stability by diazotizing a monoazo compound obtained by a diazotized aniline with a specified compound and coupling the diazotized product. SOLUTION: An aniline of formula I is diazotized, the diazotized aniline is coupled with a compound of formula II, and the reaction product is alkalified and heated to obtain a monoazo compound of formula III. This compound is diazotized, and the diazotized product is coupled with a compound of formula IV to obtain a thermal transfer disazo pigment of formula V. An ink obtained by dissolving or dispersing this pigment and a binder in an organic solvent is applied to a substrate to obtain a thermal transfer sheet. In the formulae, ring A and ring B are each a benzene ring which may be substituted; R1 is a 1-4C (un)substituted alkyl; and R2 is H or a 1-4C (un)substituted alkyl.
