PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect a tension of a thread easily and accurately at the time of thread taking-up operation and thread switching operation. SOLUTION: A noncontact tension detector 13 to measure a tension of a running thread is disposed between a swing pivot guide 12 and a traverse device 5, and a contact tension detector 14 to measure a tension at the time of thread switching operation from a thread take-up package to a vacant bobbin is disposed between a thread sorting guide 11 and the swing pivot guide 12. In addition, a tension monitoring and calibrating device 10 is installed to calibrate, immediately before the thread switching operation, the indication values on the contact tension detector 14 based on the indication values measured by the noncontact tension detector 13.
