PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an image large in the number of pixels even when a CCD imaging device smaller in size is utilized without designing again the lens group of a microscope adapter. SOLUTION: In this microscope device, an object 1 is fed to the CCD imaging device 3 through the lens group 2. The CCD imaging device 3 is fixed to a CCD supporter 5. The CCD supporter 5 is driven in the direction X (horizontal direction) and the direction Y (vertical direction) by motors 6X and 6Y. Signals from the CCD imaging device 3 is fed to a compressing circuit 10, is stored once in an image memory and is compressed. The compressed image signal imparted with sub-data is fed to a recording medium 13. The compressed image signal from the recording medium 13 is stored once in the image memory 11 through an expanding circuit 14 and is successively expanded by the expanding circuit 14. Image processing is carried out by an image compositing circuit 20 in an image memory 16 and one piece of the generated composite image is fed to a display circuit 17.
