PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve leak diagnosis precision of an evaporating fuel treating device. SOLUTION: After a stop of an engine, an air pump 13 is brought into an ON-state and a switch valve 14 is switched to the air pump 13 side, and with air fed with a pressure from the air pump 13 to purge lines 6 and 10 through the fresh air lead-in port 9 of a canister 7 after a flow of it through the switch valve 14, the working current value of the air pump 13 is measured as a leak level. The leak level is compared with a decision level, and when the leak level is below the decision level, it is diagnosed that leak is present. In this case, in a case of the frequency of high rotation load operation being high, based on the operation history before a stop of an engine, leak diagnosis after a stop of an engine is prohibited.
