摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quickly focus on a target collimation object by easy operation by deciding a 2nd focusing position based on the result of detection by a focus detection means repeatedly actuated while moving a focusing lens. SOLUTION: By repeating such operation that an AF starting switch 27 is depressed once and then it is depressed again within a specified time whenever focusing is performed, focusing is performed by moving the focusing lens 12 to a different position whenever operation is performed. In the case of looking in an ocular 15 and judging that it is erroneous focusing by visual observation though an object is brought into focus by depressing the switch 27 once so that automatic focusing processing may be executed, a user brings an object other than the erroneously focused object into focus by depressing the switch 27 twice within the specified time. Therefore, the lens 12 is prevented from being focused on the erroneously focused object again, so that the needless focusing operation is not repeated.
