PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve visual recognition by attaching a counter weight for canceling a gravity cosine moment to a motor drive capable of rotating a roof mirror apparatus between a retracted position and a working position with respect to an attachment base of a large-area roof mirror body fixed on the roof, and thus permitting accurate rotation upon starting. SOLUTION: In a roof mirror apparatus A, the bottom and side surfaces of a counter weight 49 having an appropriate weight for canceling a gravity cosine moment of a first roof mirror body 1 having a first roof mirror 4 attached thereto are closely fitted to the respective surfaces of a counter-weight holding portion 47 and a stopping portion 48. Each counter weight 49 is individually fastened to a lower attachment rib 69 by one counter-weight attaching bolt 72. The first roof mirror 4 attached on the roof higher than the eye point allows visual recognition of an extensive view. Therefore, collision with another vehicle or a building upon, for example, passing each other in a narrow road can be prevented.
