PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a garbage treating machine excellent in durability and enhanced in malodor reducing effect. SOLUTION: A catalytic device deodorizing a malodor contained in exhaust gas generated from garbage during treatment is constituted of a base material completed product 20 formed by mutually laminating an insulating flat plate 22 and a metal base material formed into a corrugated plate shape and subjected to expanding processing to wind them and the undercoat layer and catalyst layer formed on the surface of the base material completed product 20 in succession and the catalyst layer is heated by passing a current through the base material 21 to decompose a malodorous component. Herein, the base material 21 itself becomes a heat generator by passing a current through the base material 21 and can rapidly reach catalyst activating temp. without generating the loss of thermal energy as compared with indirect heating. Since the base material 21 is made of a metal, it is extremely high in heat conductivity and rapidly rises in temp. and a garbage treating machine excellent in the reduction of a malodor can be provide.
