PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a self-traveling elevator system which can assure a high transporting capacity at a small spatial volume and a low equipment cost and is excellent in convenience for passengers. SOLUTION: An elevator system comprises a plurality of mobile bodies 1 having a lifting means, a plurality of shafts 2 expanded in lateral direction relative to the front of the mobile bodies, communication tubes 3 which connect these shafts aslant to each other, a power feeding device and a signal transmission device to each mobile body, a means to detect the position of each mobile body, and a mobile body control device set for each mobile body. Using a self-traveling elevator in which a guide rail for guide roller disposed on the back of the mobile bodies 4 is set inside the shafts 2 and which has a guide mechanism capable of selecting the moving direction of the mobile bodies 1 at a branch part of the guide rail, cars can be made bypassed when the other mobile body is present on the routes of the mobile bodies 1. |
