PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk device capable of driving a motor for transfer even when the friction force of the transfer motor itself or the friction force of a mechanism for transferring an optical head is increased because of a change with time. SOLUTION: This optical device 100 is provided with a tracking error detecting means 40 for detecting a tracking error signal indicating a shift in position between an optical beam and a track, a fine moving means 17 for moving the optical beam substantially in the radial direction of an optical disk 1, a rough moving means 43 for moving the fine moving means 17 substantially in the radial direction of the optical disk 1, tracking control means 41, 42, 46 and 47 for controlling the fine and rough moving means 17 and 43 so as to position the optical beam on the track based on the tracking error signal detected by the tracking error detecting means 40, and a decentering detecting means 63 for detecting the decentering amount of the track on the optical disk 1. Thus, the tracking control means 41, 42, 46 and 47 control the rough moving means based on the decentering amount detected by the decentering detecting means 63.
