PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device capable of preventing deterioration of the developer as a result of undersirable agitation other than object color following the forced toner replenishing, and making a service life of the developer prolonged. SOLUTION: A color copying machine is, provided with a transfer mechanism 60 placed below respective color photoreceptor drum 51Y, 51M, 51C and 51B. The transfer mechanism 60 is, provided with a drive roller 63 and the driven roller 64, and a transfer belt 61 disposed extending around the above mentioned rollers, and moreover respective color transfer device 62Y, 62M, 62C and 62B, and further more an elevation mechanism 90 for vertically moving the respective transfer device. When the toner density in the developing device of the certain unit falls below a specified level, the transfer device is descended by the elevation mechanism 90, the transfer belt 61 is parted from the respective photoreceptor drum, and the toner is replenished in the developing device of the objective color. |
